Voice of Truth Project

Finding freedom through a Christ-filled life

Beginning March 8, 2011

Filed under: Killing the Giant — Voice of Truth Project @ 6:38 pm

I don’t know about you, but music makes a huge impact in my life.  It was one of the ways that God drew me back into relationship with him.  It comforts me when I’m sad…  Energizes me when I need to get in a good workout…  It reminds me of God’s  grace…  Restores my hope when I feel hopeless…

This morning, I was laying in bed and the alarm went off.  The song that was playing was “Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns.  Now, I’ve heard this song many many times, and each time I think how much it describes me.  I highly suggest that if you haven’t heard this song to get a copy.  It’s awesome!  Here is the section that really speaks to me (it is not the lyrics to the whole song, only a portion).

Voice of Truth

By Casting Crowns

But the voice of truth tells me a different story

The voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”

The voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”

Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have

The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant

With just a sling and a stone

Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors

Shaking in their armor

Wishing they’d have had the strength to stand

But the giant’s calling out my name

And he laughs at me

Reminding me of all the times

I’ve tried before and failed

The giant keeps on telling me

Time and time again.  “Boy, you’ll never win!”

“You’ll never win!”

But the stone was just the right size

To put the giant on the ground

And the waves they don’t seem so high

From on top of them lookin’ down

I will soar with the wings of eagles

When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus

Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Today, I decided to start a blog naming my giants and taking the stones of truth from God and destroying each and every one of them.

This is going to be a journey that is not going to be easy.  It will be filled with direction, struggle, hope, and complete victory.  If you choose to follow along on this journey, welcome.  Maybe we both will learn something along the way.  See you on the battlefield!

Absolutely love it! A great metaphor for everyone, to take Gods stones of truth and knock out those Giants in our lives that bring us down. Love it, love it, love it!!!!!!
